2008 WINTER TIPS

2008 winter is here and it is cold with very little snow fall for the ranch. This is a hard time for the water system with no insulation on the water lines and meters. The best thing to do on your property is to remember to shut your meter off at the road if leaving for long periods of time. Make sure there is plenty of snow piled on your meter lid and also about a 5 foot radius around it to insulate the meter and setter, if you do uncover it please make sure to cover it back up. You should also put some sort of marker by your meter just incase you need to find it in a hurry. It also will help if you put a little insulations in your meter pit, make sure it is loose and not packed in this will help a bunch. If you notice your water starting to die down or think it is starting to freeze, open a cold water faucet and allow it to run.
