Fire Hydrant Water Theft

We have had a recent spike in water theft out of fire hydrants for construction. Water theft from a fire hydrant is federal offense and a high fine. Not only is it a theft of water but it also can create a cross connection and can contaminate an entire water system. Please if you see anyone hooked to a fire hydrant besides the fire department or the water company take a picture of the vehicle and the license plate if possible. Do not get into an altercation with them as we will contact the Summit County Sherriff to handle the matter.
