Cold Weather

Cold weather is here and it’s time for that yearly reminder to shut your meter off. Please shut it off at the meter if you are not planning on being there for a long period of time (2 weeks or more). Remember to mark your meter, before snow falls, it can be hard to find them. If you do dig it up, make sure to pile snow back on for insulation on the meter. We have already had one line freeze in a cabin and break, they used 45K gallons in one month. It ended up flooding the interior of the home. We have seen this multiple times a year and try to help as much as we can by reading meters, but there is only so much we can do. Please shut it off at the meter not just inside the home because the line outside can still freeze and break.
