Cross-Connection Questions

So we have received a lot of emails asking how to fix the problem if you have tanks. There are three ways to do this. First is an approved in line back flow device that meets the National Plumbing Code. These devices have to be inspected annually and a inspection report will need to be given to PMMWC after the inspection is complete. The scond way involves a swing-arm water connection this is done by a flexible pipe which allows you to be connected to either the culinary connection or your external tank. This will need to be inspected by the water company after installation and will need no further inspections. The third way is to disconnect your tanks permanently and show the water company they are disconnected. Plumbing Code states that the first two options given need to be installed above ground or in the garage or basement where water will not be able to pool around the device to prevent contamination.

Everyone who has a metered connection needs to have an inspection rather you have tanks or not. If it is a vacant property with a meter on it we still need to inspect it to make sure there are no cross connections present. If you have not scheduled an appointment yet please do, we are accepting them now and beginning to start them May 1st thru Oct. with weather permitting. Appointments can be made for Mon-Fri from 9am-2pm. Please email the manager at pmmwmanager@hotmail.com to get on the schedule. All other questions can be sent to the same email and will be responded to in a timely manner. Thank You
